TA in Practice is a transactional analysis course designed to help you apply the core models of TA more effectively in your work with individuals and groups. It is practical, experiential and focused on strengthening clear, effective Adult-Adult communication in real professional settings.
A Practical Transactional Analysis Course for Professional Application
TA in Practice is a five-day module that builds on the ten core models introduced in TA Foundations and shows you how to use them more intentionally in your professional work. It explores how Transactional Analysis can support effective short-term contracts for change with both individuals and groups, while strengthening the quality of communication in real client and workplace settings.
This course is especially relevant for people who already work with clients, colleagues, groups or behaviour change processes and want to strengthen their practical use of TA. It is also the essential next step for those who may wish to continue into the Advanced Professional Training Group.
If you are already qualified as a psychotherapist or counsellor, modules one and two combined provide you with the knowledge and skills to integrate TA into your existing work.

Progression
TA in Practice is the second step in the wider TA Academy pathway. It follows TA Foundations and takes the learning further into practical and professional application, helping you use the models more effectively with clients, groups and colleagues.
Entry Requirements
TA in Practice builds on the ten core models covered in TA Foundations. TA Academy’s preferred route is to complete the ‘TA Foundations’ course first, as this establishes the communication protocols used throughout the training and helps you experience the Academy’s style of teaching before progressing further.
If you have already completed a TA101 elsewhere, that is not normally seen as equivalent to our ‘TA Foundations’. Students with more advanced prior TA training can discuss their needs individually with Mandy and Gerry.
This module is especially suited to people already working with clients, colleagues, groups, leading teams or behaviour change processes and to those wanting to progress into the Advanced Professional Training Group.
