Course Description
TA in Practice is a five-day Transactional Analysis course designed to help you apply the core models of TA more effectively in your work with individuals and groups. This course is practical, experiential and professionally robust. Rather than only learning concepts in theory, you will build confidence in using TA more intentionally in counselling, change work and professional communication. It focuses on strengthening clear, effective Adult-Adult communication and helping you work more intentionally with clients, colleagues and groups. TA in Practice is especially relevant for people who already work with clients, colleagues, groups or behaviour change processes and want to strengthen their practical use of TA. For practitioners who meet the entry requirements, it can also be taken as a focused standalone module covering brief interventions and the practical application of TA. To be eligible for TA in Practice, you must have completed the TA Academy’s TA Foundations module or at least one year of recognised Transactional Analysis training. Through this training, you will learn how to create effective short-term contracts for change, strengthen your capacity for Adult-Adult communication, build confidence in working with a wide range of clients and understand the key phases of effective brief therapy and short-term contract work. You will also learn how the Transactional Analysis approach can help you recognise severe mental health presentations and understand the essential first steps for working safely and appropriately with people experiencing them. What’s included: • Brief T.A. Therapy Certificate • 36 hours of professional training • Practical application of TA with individuals and groups • Essential preparation for Advanced Training Group TA in Practice can stand alone as a valuable professional development course, and it is also the essential next step for those who may wish to continue into the Advanced Training Group. The five-day format is designed to reduce travel time and costs for participants from around New Zealand.
