For professionals ready to do more with the skills you already have
You may already be working closely with people within our healthcare, social or community services. You care deeply about helping others and you have likely built valuable experience in your current role. But you may also be feeling the limits of what your current role allows you to do.
This page is health professionals who want deeper psychological understanding, stronger client outcomes and may even be looking for a new career pathway as a registered psychotherapist or counsellor. This is especially relevant for mental health workers, nurses and other health practitioners. It is also relevant for existing psychotherapists or counsellors who are looking to integrate the powerful models of transactional analysis into their work.
THE CHALLENGE
When your current role no longer feels like enough
Many professionals working with people reach a point where they feel stifled by the structures and limitations of their job. You may have real experience, strong people skills and a genuine desire to help, but you do not have the solidity of a recognised counselling or psychotherapist qualification.
You may be wanting more freedom, a career change or more control over your work and the ability to support people with greater depth and confidence. You may also be looking for a way to turn your existing experience into something more substantial, whether that means improving your current professional practice, building a private income or achieving the recognised qualification of ‘registered psychotherapist’.

WHY TA MATTERS
A Practical Framework for Understanding People More Deeply
Transactional Analysis gives existing professionals a clear and practical framework for making greater sense of the issues you encounter every day. It helps explain both what happens within a person and what happens between people, giving you more clarity around communication, behaviour and relational patterns.
For people wishing to explore a career change with psychotherapy training or counselling training, TA offers a model that has been used successfully by thousands of mental health practitioners all around the world and across many different cultures for more than half a century. It is deeply rooted in the psychoanalytical tradition but is accessible and highly applicable in many real-world settings. It provides you with an integrated framework that helps you understand people more clearly and respond more effectively.
