Course Description
The Psychotactile Intensive is a five-day experiential training for practitioners completing the final module of the Diploma in Psychotactile Therapy. Participants will observe and undertake real therapeutic work using the Psychotactile Therapy approach, working with personal material in a safe and professionally facilitated training environment. The course explores a systematic approach to life script, schema and narrative work across key developmental stages. Participants will experience how structured therapeutic touch may be used to support the integration and discharge of both remembered and forgotten trauma. Live experiential sessions are followed by reflective discussion, relevant theory and further practical work. This applied format allows participants to connect Psychotactile theory and touch protocols directly with the realities of clinical practice. The intensive requires participants to be willing to explore their own accumulated trauma and take part in therapeutic work with other members of the training group. Before attending, participants must have completed the previous Psychotactile Therapy modules and provide: • Evidence of at least 25 logged client sessions using Primal Touch • Evidence of at least 12 hours of small-group online supervision with Gerry Pyves • A marked and passed 2,000-word case history covering the use of touch with one client across more than five sessions These requirements must be completed and submitted before or upon arrival at the intensive. Successful completion of this final module results in the award of the Diploma in Psychotactile Therapy. This course is held in Wanaka only. Course Length: 5 days Session Times: Days 1 to 4: 9am to 7pm Day 5: 9am to 1pm
