Course Description

'The Primal Touch Instructor Training' is a five-day professional training for practitioners who have completed 'The Foundations of Psychotactile Therapy' and want to deepen their understanding of the Primal Touch protocols. They do this by learning how to teach a Primal Touch Exchange to individuals, couples and groups for them to use on each other at home. The course builds on the touch skills developed during the Foundations module and takes participants through each of the eight Primal Touch training modules. It covers the teaching points, demonstrations, safety agreements and practical competencies needed to guide others in giving and receiving a Primal Touch Exchange. Participants will deepen their understanding of compression, rocking, stroking, trauma first aid, self-soothing protocols and integrative Primal Touch treatments. The course also includes repeated practice in both teaching and delivering the Primal Touch Exchange. It is based on the philosophy that “teaching a thing is the quickest route to understanding it yourself”. Participants will deepen their understanding of compression, rocking, stroking, trauma first aid, self-soothing protocols and integrative Primal Touch treatments. The course also includes repeated practice teaching and delivering the Primal Touch Exchange. The training provides materials that instructors can use to offer community talks and demonstrations about removing trauma from the nervous system, teach Primal Touch Exchange workshops and help clients develop supportive touch practices with trusted friends or family members. After the five-day course, participants must attend four scheduled online Touch Instructor Forums, teach the eight Primal Touch modules to a group of at least two people and submit a learning journal about their teaching experience. Once these requirements have been completed, successful participants will receive certification as a Primal Touch Instructor and will be eligible to be listed on the TA Academy website. This course is also Module II of the 124-hour Diploma in Psychotactile Therapy and is required for practitioners who want to progress to the final Psychotactile Intensive. Completion of 'The Foundations of Psychotactile Therapy' and its Module I certificate is required before enrolling. Includes four two-hour online Touch Instructor Forums. Course Length: 5 days Session Times: Day 1: 2pm to 7pm Days 2 to 4: 9am to 7pm Day 5: 9am to 1pm
